Thanks to all the little "elves" that stopped by the band hall overnight.  It looks great!

We still need some help this weekend.

Tonight:  We need 3 more people to help sell our Car Raffle Tickets.  This is the last night we will have to sell at a home game, and we have quite a few tickets to move.  Here's the link....

 

Tomorrow:  We have several spots that have to be filled. For the people who are avoiding signing up for the warm up areas -because they are in the parking lot - NOT TO WORRY!  Our band is the last band to come through!  Your duty will be complete before our band takes the field... You will have plenty of time to get back to the stands before the show!   Here's the link....

Wow!  So that was quite a day! 

Congratulations to the Dragon Band for their performance at Westlake Marching Competition.

First Place Prelims - Round Rock High School 91.70  

First Place - Finals - Round Rock High School 89.45. 

With this momentum, I can't wait to see the final performance - (hopefully November 4!)  Keep up the good work!

Hopefully, everyone had the chance to stop by the tailgate for some food and fellowship!  Excellent job by Kathy and her team - and everyone who brought food to share!  

And if you did not have a chance to stop by the parking lot - it was quite a show of teamwork and support.  Thanks to the pit crew, prop crew and podium teams that helped to get everything out on the field.  


It's Here!   UIL Region Marching competition THIS  Saturday! 

Round Rock Band has a great reputation of hosting marching competitions, and the bar is set high!    We need to be sure all our spots are filled.    Please confirm your shift on the Signup Genius, and if you see an issue, please let us know ASAP.  Click here for the link.

We have attempted to send reminders - but some email addresses are bouncing.  We need to be sure we have all our spots filled.

We still need individuals to fill the following spots:

  • Band Escorts function as the host for a band and will stay with that band during its competition.  Assist the band director in getting his band to Warm-up Area, to Band Entrance for performance, off the field after performance, to Water Station after performance, and back to the buses.  Great opportunity to meet and visit with other bands!  (1 still needed)
  • Warm Up and Gate Monitors - help control access to various places throughout Kelly Reeves.  They help the Band Escorts move the bands to/from Warm-up Areas at appropriate times; help the bands enter/exit the field before and after the performance; assist with gate opening to allow buses to exit after competition (8 still needed).
  • Parking Directors help get the various trucks and buses in their proper areas.  (3 still needed).

Attn. All Volunteers:  Please be sure you are arriving at least 15 minutes before your shift to allow for time to park, sign in and get to where you need to be.  You will have a volunteer name tag that is also your admission. 

Spectator admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students.  There is no parking fee; spectator parking is the South (Visitor) lot.


Car Raffle Ticket Sales -  are drawing to a close

THIS Friday night is our last big chance to sell tickets at the football game.  This is a GREAT opportunity, and we NEED a few people who are willing to SELL.  We need some real "carnival barkers" out there this Friday night... a minimum of two volunteers are needed to help.  This is our one big chance – can you help?  Your efforts will be greatly appreciated!  Click here to sign up!


 Prop Crew

  - Thanks to everyone who came out to help load, unload, assemble, store, load and put away the props this weekend.  Every single person who came out to help was valuable – and needed!  We are going to need this type of help again for the next several competitions.  Some help is needed Friday night, but we need a lot of flexibility – and help Saturday night.  Please consider signing up to help with the props after your shift with UIL Region Marching Competition!


Concessions 

Concession signups are looking pretty good this week, but we do still have a few open spots on the visitor side.  Seeing as this week's game is vs. Cedar Ridge, and a fight for first place... we are anticipating a very heavy crowd.  We need all our concession spots filled!    Additionally, we still need over 35 spots filled for our Halloween/Homecoming Game.  Click here to sign up

No Game Day Meal Orders This Week - Pizza for all the students!

This week there will not be a game day meal option.  It is middle school night and pizza is being served to all the bands.  This should be a fun time for the younger kids to get a taste of what High School band is like and will give them more time with our kids than they have had in previous years.

Raffle Ticket Turn-in 

If you have tickets left, now’s the time for a final push for sales. We’re in the home stretch and the raffle drawing is right around the corner!   Remember, if we exceed $20,000 in profit, all excess will be added to our trip fund to be divided equally to all band students. 

Please note the date change - Our FINAL turn in date for raffle ticket stubs and money is Tuesday, October 28th from 6:00 to 7:15pm.  This will be the last time tickets are collected, so ALL ticket stubs, money, and unsold tickets need to be turned in at this time to ensure that all stubs are in the drawing for a chance to win!  I will be collecting in one of the practice rooms in the hallway adjacent to the band hall.  Signs will be posted to help you find your way.

Tickets/money may also be turned in at the game this Friday, October 17. 

If you need extra tickets, now is the time to ask!  Many of our parents have needed just a few extras to be able to sell a 6 for $100 deal…that’s totally fine!  We can give you 1 extra, or 10, or more…just let us know!

Homecoming News

Exciting news about Homecoming!  This year there will be a Community pep rally on Wednesday evening.  The parade is also moving to Wednesday.  This is great news for our kids because they won’t be missing out.  The calendar will be updated soon.  See the attached press release for more information.

Tournament of Roses Parade Tickets - If you still need to order your Tournament of Roses Parade tickets, you have until October 15 to get your orders in! **Remember** if you have ordered any of the Fan Packages offered by MTC, the package includes your Rose Parade ticket. If you wish to just purchase a parade ticket, please visit the booster club website for ordering instructions.


On a final note, the boosters have sent off our check to Music Travel which should be applied to each student’s individual travel account within the next two weeks!
