 Tournament of Roses DVDs are Here!-

The   DVDs were distributed Tuesday and Wednesday after school.  If you missed this pickup time, please stop by the table outside the band hall Friday, February 20 between 4-4:30 to get your copy.  If you have already let Alison know you would like “parent pick up” you will get an email letting you know what time she’s available to meet you.  If you want “parent pick up” and haven’t let her know, please do so by Monday evening, otherwise they will be given to the students. Her email is ashoepe@austin.rr.com

 There are a very limited number of extras that were ordered.  These will be available on a first come, first served basis starting with the first pick up time on Tuesday.  Cash (exact change) or checks will be accepted for the extras.

Guard

Want to see what the Winter Guard is up to?  Now is your chance…You have an opportunity to see our Open Guard perform a run-through of their competition winter guard show this Friday night at 7:30 in the Field House gym. It will likely be your only chance to see them perform without having to travel or to purchase a ticket. This is an open performance, so please bring your family, your students, and friends. See you there!

Golf Tournament

Mattress Sale is Coming Soon!

Presidents’ Day Mattress Sales???  Skip ‘em!  If you, or a friend or neighbor, are in the market for a new mattress – we will be holding our annual mattress sale in the band hall on Saturday, May 16.  Name brand mattresses, discounted prices, and proceeds to benefit RRHS Dragon Band!  Mark your calendar now!

Dell Diamond Stand Managers

The Dragon Band will be back at the Dell Diamond for the third season, and we need a team of volunteers to help coordinate the effort.  Thanks you Joyce Nelson, Renee Acosta, Jim Machajewski, Julia Beaumariage, Curtis Chapman, Dan Mullen, and Roger Weaver for stepping up to serve as the steering committee.  We have a few more openings for Stand Managers.  If you are interested in serving in this capacity, This year we will be taking on a smaller stand, and shorter season.  RS3 will hold a 6 week training session beginning 3/3 at the Dell Diamond to familiarize our team (all are welcome but particularly the steering committee) with RS3 and the business/concession expectations. 

We are currently looking for 3 or 4 more volunteers to serve as "Stand Managers".  Responsibility includes checking in our volunteers, picking up and returning the cash from RS3, and just be the “go to person” for the night. If you are interested in filling this position or have questions, please email rrbbvc@yahoo.com to get in touch with the committee.

Band Camp Scholarships

ALL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO YOUR STUDENT'S BAND DIRECTOR BEFORE THE END OF SCHOOL DAY ON FEBRUARY 19, 2015. NO EXCEPTIONS OR EXTENSIONS WILL BE GIVEN.

The Round Rock Band Boosters are now accepting applications for scholarships to be awarded to graduating RRHS band students. Students who participated in band or color guard are encouraged to apply.

THIS IS PRIMARY SOURCE OF INCOME FOR THE BAND!

Did you hear?  Renovations are underway!  New chairs are in... and tables are next.  Painting the walls and replacing the ceiling tiles are in the works as well! The place is getting a great new look!   Come check it out!   Monday, Tuesday or Saturday night (and often Fridays as well).  It is in the process of renovating, new chairs have already arrived.... New tables any day.... and a painting project will be complete in a few weeks!  Its going to look great!     Our band's major source of income is through our association with  Creekside Charity Bingo.

Sessions begin 7:15

Each  Monday, Tuesday and Saturday night.  

We also run a monthly late Friday night session as well.  Be sure to share this information with your friends!  (2300 Chisholm Trail Rd., Round Rock, TX  behind Rudy's and next to DoubleDave's) - We are adding doorprizes to OUR sessions... don't miss out!

Applications Now Being Accepted for 2015 Summer Band/Guard Camp Scholarships

The Round Rock High School Band Boosters will be awarding $300 scholarships for band/color guard students participating in any approved summer instrumental/color guard band camp.  The scholarship may also be applied toward Drum Corps International (DCI) fees.

RRHS freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and all grade levels (6th, 7th & 8th) at Chisholm Trail Middle School, Walsh Middle School and Cedar Valley Middle School (who will attend RRHS) who are currently enrolled and planning to continue in band/color guard are eligible and encouraged to apply for these scholarships.
