The big thing this week is
BOA - SAN ANTONIO!
This is the week our students work for ALL YEAR! And it's here! The band will be arriving early Friday - ready and on the field ready to practice at 7:00 a.m. As always - lets get 'em there early and ready to go! Their meals will be provided throughout the day. (breakfast tacos at 9:30 - Chick Fil A at 2:30 and Pokejo's turkey sandwiches before the game). The boosters will provide a snack bag as well to get them through the day!
It's a Prelims - Finals type competition. We will be performing in the Friday Prelims - and then heading back to San Antonio Saturday for the finalist announcements a After announcements the finalists' schedules will be announced. (Separate tickets will need to be purchased for Prelims and for Finals).
Their performance time is 1:00 in the Alamodome on Friday and Finalist announcements will be made at 4:45 on Saturday. Finalist performances begin at 7:15.
In San Antonio - our regular pit/podium and prop crews will be there, but working with several "holes". Please - if you have time before our performances - run out to the parking lot and lend a hand! As with all BOA competitions, we are working on a tight timeline - as we have to move in - assemble - perform - store and move out on a very regimented schedule. Extra hands are always welcome.
Props will be loading the trucks Thursday afternoon at 5:00. As for the rest of the equipment - we will be loading the trucks early Friday morning at the school and our designated unload time is 11:30-11:50. The staging area will be located on the south side of the arena. You will receive a text message from your team leader with specific instructions and we will attempt to update this sight as soon as information becomes available to us!
DONT FORGET TO COME BACK AFTER THE PERFORMANCE AND HELP US GET THOSE TRUCKS LOADED AND OFF THE SITE :)
If you get emails throughout this weekend - please bear with us! There's vital information that needs to get out - and in a time crunch -(and using phones - instead of computers) it is less complicated to send to ALL. If you are not in San Antonio - clearly - you are excused from answering the call!
THIS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT WEEKEND FOR THE DRAGON BAND! HOPE YOU CAN MAKE IT OUT TO CHEER THEM ON!
If you can't make it to the Alamodome this weekend - Check out this message from Music For All... There's information on the livestream and more.... at musicforall.org.
